One
of the many things I adore about living in an old 50’s cape cod, is that our
mailbox hangs right outside the front door, and the mailperson walks from house
to house to deliver. My son loves to
“collect” (hoard) small containers and tins, so he keeps empty plastic gum
containers, and the other day I noticed that they look very similar to our
mailbox! Soooo, how perfect would they
be to hold little Valentine’s Day cards and goodies?! They just need some spray paint, alphabet
stickers to label them “MAIL” or personalize with names, and some heart
stickers or confetti to make them Valentine-y!
If you’re hosting a party for the kids this February, these would be so
cute at each place setting to hold little cards, conversation hearts, confetti,
and treats. They are also a great party
craft, since the kids can decorate them with stickers, doilies, or paper hearts
to suit their style. Kids get a kick out
of anything “mini”, so these personal mailboxes are the perfect favor!
SUPPLIES:
• Spray paint in Valentine colors
• Alphabet stickers OR cutting machine and vinyl
• Heart or valentine confetti, stickers, gems, and decorations
• Glue
• Valentines cards, candy, or favors
HOW TO:
Step 1
Following the instructions on your can of spray paint, paint the outside of your closed gum containers. It may take a few coats before they are fully covered. Allow to dry. Use alphabet stickers to label the boxes with the word “MAIL”, or personalize with the names of party guests.
Step 2
Attach heart stickers, doilies, paper hearts or valentine confetti to decorate the box.
Now you have the most adorable mini valentine mailboxes for your party guests, friends, neighbors, or kids! Happy crafting and Happy Valentine’s Day!!
